Synopsis by Forrest Spencer
The turbulent '60s were a time of major political, economic, military, and social changes that shaped American life for the remaining years of the 20th century. This one-hour documentary looks at two specific years of that decade and its events, including the ascension of the Civil Rights movement under the leadership of Malcolm X and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the escalation of American military involvement in Vietnam, the influence of the Beatles on the music scene, the rise of the drug culture and the Hippie movement, the revolutionary changes that occurred through the Civil Rights Act, and the race to put a man on Earth's moon by the end of the decade. The documentary contains extensive archival film footage from that era.
