Now that Alison has quit her former job, she accepts a position as a waitress at Shooters. Meanwhile, Amanda invokes Billy's authority to gain a distinct advantage in her contract negotiations, and Michael and Peter hit the road for Palm Springs in order to give Kimberly some much-needed alone time. During their trip, Michael and Peter become judges in a teen beauty pageant, and quickly become caught up in a steamy scandal with frisky female contestant Brandi and her scheming mother Teri. Later, Amanda leaves Billy for Peter, but changes her mind when Teri shows up threatening legal action for statutory rape. Somewhere in a tattoo parlor, Sydney and Bobby are drunkenly preparing to get some new ink. When Sydney's friend Laurie shows up in town with her young son Tyler, Jo is forced to take the pair in since Bobby is currently occupying Sydney's spare room. While Jo is more than happy to babysit young Tyler, she is disturbed to discover some nasty bruises on the boy's back. And what is Matt to do now that Alan has moved to New York?
