Synopsis by Eleanor Mannikka
An interesting mix of past and present, this off-beat but still conventional story of the making of a film begins with a television talk show. Panelists are asked to talk about their first love affair after they see a clip from an actual '60s film by the director of this film, Manuel Summers. He sits among the panelists himself. Seeing this clip inspires him to put together a story about a young boy who comes from a politically conservative family and is infatuated with the daughter of the local grocer. As we see this story unfold, the director who is creating it (Summers) and its producer go about looking for the actors and actresses who will play the parts.
