Synopsis by Nathan Southern
The shifting global climate that continues to melt the polar ice caps represents one of the greatest potential ecological crises - not only for humans, but for the many species of fauna that inhabit the ice-laden Arctic regions and depend on the wintry climate (and ice per se) for survival. The documentary program National Geographic: Masters of the Arctic Ice travels to the polar spheres for an unflinching look at how these temperature shifts are drastically affecting animals by weakening their survival skills - with direst consequences for such creatures as narwhals, polar bears and ringed seals.
