Fed up with practically everything -- the lack of decorum at the 4077th, the irreverence of Hawkeye (Alan Alda) and Trapper (Wayne Rogers), and especially her dead-end romance with Frank Burns (Larry Linville) -- Maj. Margaret "Hot Lips" Houlihan (Loretta Swit) demands a transfer out of the unit. This momentous occasion demands a farewell party, during which Margaret gets good and sloshed. An unexpected crisis not only sobers up the heroine, but changes her mind as well.
