Eileen Heckart makes her second series appearance as Flo Meredith, the hardboiled, outspoken, global-correspondent aunt of Mary Richards (Mary Tyler Moore). Breezing back into Minneapolis, Flo has an offer for newsroom boss Lou Grant (Ed Asner); she wants him to collaborate with her on a public television news special. Not surprisingly, the time it takes for Flo and Lou to end up at each other's throats lasts the duration of the lighting of Flo's cigarette. "Mary's Aunt Returns" first aired on February 7, 1976.
