Synopsis by Jason Buchanan
A father and son attempting to survive in the middle of a war zone find their delicate balance disrupted with the appearance of an injured female soldier in first-time feature filmmaker Marta Nováková's tense, claustrophobic drama. Winter has fallen on Eastern Europe, and as a father chops wood to ensure continued warmth and fuel his son ventures into the forest to check the animal traps he has set to catch supper. Much to the boy's surprise, a female soldier carrying an envelope marked "Secret" has become ensnared in the trap. When the boy brings the woman back to their cabin to nurse her back to help, it quickly becomes apparent that his father vehemently objects to the plan. In the days that follow, father and son will find out just how impossible it is to live an insulated life during times of conflict.
