Peggy Hyland stars in this bland patriotic drama. As was usual in American films made during World War I, there are Huns afoot. The main one in this picture is Max Rupholdt (William H. Boyd), a spy who has befriended some Americans. Cyrus Baird (Dan Mason) wants his daughter, Susan (Hyland), to marry the foppish Ethelbert Granger (Al Lee). Susan isn't the least bit interested in her father's choice and instead falls in love with James Morton (Edwin Stanley), who happens to be the nephew of her father's most frustrating rival (George Clarke). James is believed to be disloyal to the U.S., but he proves everyone wrong when Granger takes Baird and Susan for a cruise on Rupholdt's houseboat. The spy has a mine layer secreted on the boat and Morton finds out about it. He manages to rescue Susan just before Rupholdt meets a violent death by his own devices.
