Synopsis by Clarke Fountain
In this documentary, the influences which have contributed to the development of contemporary Moroccan music and culture are explored. In addition to showing musicians of all sorts in performance, the filmmaker shows how this music fits into the everyday lives of Moroccans. Among the influences explored are many from the northern Mediterranean, notably Spain. This is the first in a projected three-part documentary series about Moroccan music.
