Synopsis by Clarke Fountain
After escaping from Castro's Cuba in 1980 along with almost a hundred thousand other Cubans, Ricardo chose to head to the West Coast of the U.S. and eschew the delights of Florida. A homosexual, Ricardo is amazed that so many of San Francisco's gay people hang out on a street (Castro) whose name he finds ironic, given the circumstances found in Fidel Castro's notoriously anti-gay regime. Meanwhile, the eager immigrant finds work at a restaurant and begins meeting local people, especially an attractive young American man who lives in the neighborhood with his mother.
