Synopsis by Sandra Brennan

Crusty old Vermont farmer Fred Tuttle wants a new career with benefits. Tired of toiling with farm chores, and with only a 10th grade education, he can only think of one job but can only think one job that matches his qualifications - a seat in the US Congress. He decides to run on the Regressive Party ticket and that is when the fun of this gently satirical, at times hilarious pseudo-documentary really begins. Though, Tuttle is not the brightest, youngest, or in-touch candidate, he does possess a peculiar rustic charisma and a nifty way of putting things. Most of the cast, including Tuttle (the real life neighbor of filmmaker John O'Brien) are non-professionals.. Activist William Sloane Coffin makes a cameo appearance as a silver-tongued US senator.
