Synopsis by Rose of Sharon Winter
This documentary is part two of a series that explores the history and culture of three ancient Macedonian civilizations that have disintegrated. During the time of Philip II and his son Alexander the Great, who conquered the known world, many scholars and artists were brought to centers of learning in Macedonia, enriching the communities there. Archeologist Dimitri Pandermalis takes the viewer back in time to Amphipolis, Philippi, and Thessaloniki for a look at the achievements of these great civilizations.
