Synopsis by Dan Pavlides
Paco and Lisa leave Madrid in a stolen car for a new life in Barcelona in this unconventional Spanish drama. The unmarried couple settles into a cheap hotel room and begins looking for work. Paco becomes a mobster's assistant, while Lisa finds work as a model. Their love for each other begins to erode when their conflicting schedules prevent the relationship from growing. They solve their problems by stealing another car and driving off to the golden coast near Torremolinos. The feature is noteworthy because there is no attempt to follow the conventional Iberian themes of honor, bullfighting, and flamenco dancing. The film is a reality sandwich that does not sugarcoat the fact that crime, prostitution, and living together out of wedlock are part of everyday life.
