Synopsis by Mark Deming
Despite a number of personal tragedies and changes in the landscape of American popular music, Lynyrd Skynyrd remains one of the legendary bands of Southern rock, and the surviving members continue to offer their Dixie-fried three-guitar attack to packed houses on the road. Lynyrd Skynyrd: Lyve From Steel Town finds the group pouring out a set of their best-known songs before a packed house during a 1997 stop in Pennsylvania; selections include "What's Your Name," "Saturday Night Special," "Sweet Home Alabama," "That Smell," "You Got That Right<," and "Freebird."
