Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Mario Montez, the transvestite star of many an Andy Warhol opus, stars in the 60-minute Lupe. Ostensibly a filmed biography of Hollywood luminary Lupe Velez, the film is mainly an excuse for excess. Director Jose Rodriguez-Soltero seems to have the most fun when dealing with the more sordid aspects of Velez' life, specifically her rather spectacular suicide. And, say kids-there's music! Lupe costars someone named White Pussy, and we believe that we've said enough about this matter.
