Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Based on a French romantic comedy by R. DeFliers and G. Caillavet, The Love Watches starred Corinne Griffith as Jacqueline Cartaret, a role played on the London stage by Gladys Cooper and on Broadway by Billie Burke. The Marquise de Juvigny (Julia Swayne Gordon), a self-styled matchmaker, attempts to arrange a marriage between the level-headed Jacqueline and the absent-minded Ernest Augarde (Denton Vane). Jacqueline rebels at this notion, preferring instead to romantically pursue the dashing Count Andre (Edward Burns). After her marriage to Andre, Jacqueline becomes so fed up with his apparent faithlessness that she pretends to start up an affair with the feckless Ernest. But all is forgiven when it turns out that Andre is not quite the roue he pretends to be.
