Macanese filmmaker Doug Kin-Tak Chan makes his feature debut as a writer/director with Zhongui Wuzui (Love Is Not a Sin), one of the very few films to be shot on-location in the Chinese province of Macao. Made with digital video, the story involves teenage girl Manman (Manman Lam), who is in love with her best friend Moon (Moon Man). Manman thinks Moon may be a boy, especially when Moon's twin brother shows up. Manman tries to muster up the strength to declare her love. Love Is Not a Sin won the Golden DV award at the 2003 Hong Kong International Film Festival.
