Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Sometimes it seemed like Viola Dana played orphans almost as much as Mary Pickford did, and she stars as one again for this crook melodrama. Tim O'Brien and his wife (Cullen Landis and Arline Pretty) are a pair of thieves who hire Mary Duffy (Dana) out of an orphanage to take care of their little boy, Red (a delightful Bruce Guerin). Tim has an affliction that causes him to be blind during the day. His night vision, however, is not affected -- a useful attribute for his profession. Mary's presence inspires him to go straight, but his greedy wife insists that they do one last job. The burglary goes wrong, however, and the couple are forced to hide from the law. Mary takes Red and goes to work for a rector as a companion to his wife. She discovers that their son is stealing from them, and tracks down Tim for his aid. Through his safecracking knowledge, he is able to steal the money back from the gambler to whom the young man lost the money, and return it to the parents. O'Brien's wife has conveniently died in an accident, enabling him and Mary to be together.
