Keitaro is a college ronin who has failed his entrance exams numerous times. He might actually have passed if he'd been willing to take an exam for a different college, but the only school he ever wants to apply to is Toudai University. This is because when he was just a little boy, the beautiful little girl he played with made a promise with him before she moved away that they'd meet again one day at Toudai University. It's too bad that Keitaro's day-dreaming, romantic tendencies make him cling to the promise, because they're the same tendencies that make him a bad student! He's about to be kicked out of his parents house because they can't afford to support him anymore, when he gets the chance to manage the all-girls dorm his grandmother is retiring from. A clumsy guy like Keitaro can barely handle such a wild job without getting socked in the head by an angry girl every day, but both he and the girls he's taking care of are becoming better friends than they realize. This might be just the place to help Keitaro finally get into Toudai University and find the lost girl of his dreams--if he hasn't found her already. Love Hina surpasses typical tropes of college ronin and harem anime by incorporating wild and outlandish situations such as massive mechanical turtles and martial arts techniques that can split rocks.
