An obscure silent society drama starring an obscure silent leading lady, Grace Davison, Love, Hate and a Woman was set in an exclusive mountain resort. Miss Davison played cloak model Daryl Sutherland who presents herself as a debutante. Having fallen in love with rich artist John Lockwood (Ralph Kellard), Daryl's true identity is revealed by jealous Mrs. Ramsey (Julia Swayne Gordon), who is also in love with Lockwood. Later, Daryl mistakenly believes Lockwood to be the seducer of her dying sister (Lila Peck), but the artist is exonerated in the last reel and they live happily ever after. According to her publicity, Grace Davison was a real-life socialite from Oceanside, New York.
