Synopsis by Jonathan Crow
Billed as a Danish American Pie, this film details Scandinavian rituals of dating, rejection, and having sex. Sixteen-year-old Victor (Robert Hansen) has the hots for the comely Anja (Sofie Lassen Kahlke), who is not only two years older than him, but has a Porsche-driving boyfriend named Peter. Victor manages to persuade Anja and her best friend Gitte to come to a party he is throwing. But when he asks her to dance, he gets overwhelmed by an attack of the hiccups. Victor overhears Peter telling Gitte of his plan to deflower the still virginal Anja. Our plucky protagonist soon foils Peter's dastardly scheme, and soon Anja awakens to the charm of Victor. This film was screened at the 2000 Berlin Film Festival.
