Middle-aged widower Gene (Gabriel Byrne) and his sons Jonah (Jesse Eisenberg) and Conrad (Devin Druid) deal with new revelations about the death of their wife and mother. Isabelle (Isabelle Huppert) was a famed war photojournalist who died in a car accident while back from assignment, and a New York Times retrospective sheds new light on her life. Meanwhile, Conrad struggles to connect with his overbearing father, and seemingly successful Jonah feels unfulfilled in his work. Joachim Trier directed this family drama, which co-stars Amy Ryan and David Strathairn.
