Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Eileen Heckart makes her third and final series appearance as Mary's Aunt Flo, a worldly, outspoken news correspondent. Despite their prickly relationship in the past, Lou (Ed Asner) falls hard for the acerbic Flo and proposes marriage. Without giving away the ending, it should be noted that Aunt Flo was the only Mary Tyler Moore Show character ever to appear on Ed Asner's subsequent (and far more serious) TV series Lou Grant. "Lou Proposes" originally aired on November 20, 1976.
