In chapter ten of Lost City of the Jungle, Rod Stanton (Russell Hayden) saves Marjorie Elmore (Jane Adams) from becoming yet another of Sir Eric's (Lionel Atwill) many victims in his quest to possess the atom bomb repellant Meteorium. Back in Zalabar, Indra (Helen Bennett) reveals that she possesses one broken half of the plaque that will reveal the location of the statue containing the Meteorium, but Dr. Elmore (John Eldredge) refuses to translate the inscription. He does, however, blurt out the whereabouts of the other half, which is hidden behind a wall in his office. But as Rod enters the room to retrieve the broken piece, he finds it booby-trapped by Sir Eric.
