Betrayal tears at a handful of people who share a painful secret in this drama from writer and director Màris Martinsons. In the Lithuanian city of Vilnius, Ben (Kostas Smoriginas) is an alcoholic business executive whose wife Nora (Dalia Micheleviciute) has left him, having lost a limb thanks to an accident he caused. Nora was involved in Ben's business, but since the end of their marriage, she's been replaced by Laima (Daiva Tamosiunaite-Budre), who has also become his mistress. Nora wanted children while she was with Ben that he wasn't able to give her, and now that she's single she's adopted a young boy named Paul (Gelmis Naujikas). But Paul has a story of his own; his birth mother Valda (Valda Bickute) has relocated to Ireland in hopes of putting her shattered life back together, but as she confronts a priest (Andrius Mamontovas) about the broken pledge that helped tear her family apart, he shares with her the painful truth that links the players in this tragic story.
