Synopsis by Jason Buchanan

A struggling pop-punk band strives for greatness in the neon-soaked 1980s in this upbeat musical comedy from the Kevin Smith Movie Club. The year is 1986 -- punk and new wave have hit their crescendo, and grunge has yet to dethrone hair metal as the music of the masses. Brian (Kyle Gallner) and Dave (Aaron Himelstein) are just two young punks with music in their hearts and fame on their minds when they convince hard-rocking headbangers Billy (Billy Kay) and Lance (Peter Brensinger) to join their band, the Fingers. The Fingers have raw talent but lack focus, a problem that resourceful young band manager/furniture salesman Greg (Adam Herschman) is determined to fix. Before long the Fingers are touring non-stop and turning heads -- including those of Simone (Allison Scagliotti) and Vicky (Alexia Rasmussen), who have their own ideas about the band's promising future. When the Fingers become a blip on the radar of big-time A&R rep Wendy (Tania Raymonde), they sense that success is just one more dingy, dive-bar gig away. But the temptations of the road can be a big distraction, and might just prevent the Fingers from realizing their true potential. Featuring music by Black Flag, Mission of Burma, Bad Brains, Guided by Voices, Minor Threat, the Descendants, and a whole host of the 1980s most memorable indie bands.
