The Argentine domestic comedy-drama Los Perez Garcia concerns itself with a Buenos Aires family that moves to the suburbs. Holding home and hearth together is Señora Perez-Garcia (Sara Prosperi), who puts up with her husband's financial improvidence, her son's amorous misadventures, and her daughter's trepidations about her upcoming wedding. One of the many subplots concerns the efforts by Señor Perez-Garcia (Martin Zabalua) to help out a former sweetheart (Manolita Poli) who has fallen on hard times. Some of the humor concerning the family's coming to grips with suburban life might play better for an Argentine audience than for a North-of-the-Border crowd. Los Perez Garcia is based on the popular South American radio series of the same name, with many of the series' stars repeating their roles for the camera.
