Synopsis by Sarah Ing
The Long Search is a 13-part series that explores the different religions of the world. Number three in the collection, Long Search: Buddhism - Footprint of the Buddha - India, takes the viewer to one of the most populous countries on Earth where a varied collection of beliefs exist. Though Buddhists only make up a small part of India, the religion runs deep. Narrator Ronald Eyre follows one American family as they adhere to this serene system. Sri Lanka plays host to a meeting of Buddhist monks in their daily absolutions. Along the way, the tenants of this moral practice are explained in detail.
