Synopsis by Rose of Sharon Winter
This video is from a four-part series that chronicles the history of trains. Trains became a part of the American industrial revolution as a way to carry goods from one place to another. They also brought a nation together from coast to coast and gave people access to regions that had been impenetrable, such as the swampy land of Florida. Archival film and photographs, along with personal recollections, tell the story of this American workhorse.
