Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Walnut Grove's upcoming centennial celebration is threatened by a sudden upsurge in taxes and road assessments. Angry over having to dig deeper into their pockets, the citizens seriously consider cancelling the celebration altogether. It takes the humble words of a recent Russian immigrant (Theodore Bikel) for the townsfolk to stop grumbling and start appreciating the wonderful country in which they live.
