Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Light in the Window is nearly as maudlin as its title. Henry B. Walthall, one of the great actors of the silent screen, goes slumming in the role of Johann Graf, a man fanatically devoted to his daughter Dorothy (Patricia Avery). Seeking only to protect the girl from harm, Johann's over-solicitous behavior nearly ruins Dorothy's happiness. She finally escapes his well-meaning oppressiveness, but he cannot console himself to the realization that his "little girl" is gone for good, and leaves a light burning in the window in the hope that she'll return. Light in the Window was released by Rayart Films, one of the several forerunners of low-budget Monogram Pictures.
