Synopsis by Rose of Sharon Winter
The history of the Earth, and the evolution of the species living on it, are the subjects of this BBC series, hosted by David Attenborough. In this episode, the viewer sees how life began in the oceans some 400 million years ago, with the simple life forms that became the building blocks for all other creatures that followed. Spectacular wildlife photography captures the beauty of the underwater world, and then takes to the land and air to chronicle the history of insects.
