Synopsis by Sandra Brennan
Cloaking its scathing commentary on the treatment of unmarried women, this comedy stars three of Egypt's biggest female stars Layla Alaoui, Alhem Chahine and Hela Sidki as a trio of 30-year-old sexually repressed bachelorettes trying to cope with their situation. One is engaged, but her betrothed is a thief who is caught on their wedding night. Another is a florist who becomes deeply depressed when her only marriage prospect wants her as a lowly second wife. The last woman lost both her virginity (a taboo in Muslim society) and her lover, who ran off to become a fundamentalist.
