The final episode of this series on the American Revolution deals with the difficulties of governing the young nation. Liberty! The American Revolution, Part 6: Are We to Be a Nation? is an examination of the problems of peace as the new Congress struggled and the states lacked direction and cohesiveness. Doubt set in, and the fate of the country seemed uncertain. The program covers events at the Constitutional Convention and the long ratification process that was an important factor in determining how the United States saw itself, as well as how it was perceived by other countries.
