Synopsis by Robert Firsching
Cult filmmaker Jesus Franco answered the popular German Schulmaedchen-Report series (which produced over a dozen direct sequels) with this laughable exploitation feature. Like its models, this film is presented as a mock documentary, featuring episodic segments purporting to examine virginity throughout history. Segments include virgin worship by cavemen; medieval defloration; Indian tribal rituals involving a tree branch; penitents sitting on ant hills; and the circumcision of a South American warrior by a steel-toothed Amazon woman. The rituals and dialogue are all presented with such carelessness as to resemble a particularly bad school play, making this film more risible than erotic. Franco devotees will enjoy the cast, however, which includes regulars Hans Hass, Jr., Howard Vernon, Britt Nichols, and Ewa Garden.
