Synopsis by Mark Deming
In this offbeat drama laced with comedy, Dr. Philippe Lehman (Philippe Manez) is a psychiatrist with an unusual specialty -- he treats people who struggle with tics, and uses a unique mixture of physical and psychological techniques to help his patients overcome their problems. Lehman works with a group of eight patients who suffer from a variety of physical and verbal tics, ranging from a man who constantly stretches his neck (and believes he can communicate with animals) to a school teacher who believes her mild condition is holding her back professionally. When Lehman is accused of malpractice, he is forced to go before a medical council and explain his theories, his patients, and how he tries to put his ideas into practice.
