A conflict between the old and the new surfaces on several levels in this interesting drama by director-writer Rafaat El-Mihi. Rifat (Yehia El Fakharani) and his wife Salva (Maali Zayed) live on an island in the Nile River, where the community has its share of old superstitions. Rifat's mother and father have built up their own fortune on the island, and are well-off as landowners and entrepreneurs. Because Salva came into her marriage without a dowry, her mother-in-law has not truly accepted her, and this makes Rifat particularly unhappy. But another source of unhappiness is something weighing on his mind -- a secret he does not share with anyone.
