Synopsis by Hal Erickson

A true watershed in the Leave It to Beaver canon, this episode finds Beaver (Jerry Mathers) reaching that "awkward age" when it seems that nothing he does is right and no one is willing to make allowance for his youth. Convinced that his folks have stopped loving him, Beaver decides to clean up his act -- by cleaning up his room -- then is plunged into despair when Ward (Hugh Beaumont) and June (Barbara Billingsley) apparently take no notice. In desperation, he wanders around the haunts of his youth, only to find that the firehouse where he used to pass the time with old Gus (Burt Mustin) is closed up -- and in the most devastating blow of all, his beloved elementary school teacher Miss Landers (Sue Randall) almost doesn't recognize him!
