Synopsis by Clarke Fountain
Benin is the former French colony of Dahomey. In this drama, many of the country's administrative institutions date from colonial times. A young administrator in a government office runs into serious resistance when he tries to make things more efficient. His chief of staff will not tolerate anything which brings them more work, and he fires a new employee who is too good a typist. Despite his staff's opposition, the new administrator insists on some changes, and the old chief of staff arranges to poison him and have a curse laid on him. The director has some frightening dreams as a result and gets himself exorcised. It can be argued that the spell works, though, for the man is injured in an accident. The chief of staff experiences a change of heart at this point and promises to mend his ways.
