Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Someone hates "hanging judge" Lynn Carlin (Roxanne Hart) enough to try to murder her. Detectives Briscoe (Jerry Orbach) and Green (Jesse L. Martin) manage to connect the attempted assassination with a pair of prison inmates. In the final analysis, however, the suspect is difficult to track, and the D.A.'s office is faced with a near-insurmountable legal dilemma. This episode of Law & Order was telecast in tandem with the series' 11th-season finale on May 23, 2001.
