Synopsis by Hal Erickson
It's the "swinging sixties", and Laverne (Penny Marshall) has opted to defy convention by moving in with her boyfriend David (Paul Sand). This puts Laverne on the outs with her friend Shirley (Cindy Williams), especially since it is Shirley who must keep the situation a secret from Laverne's father Frank (Phil Foster). Surprisingly, it is Lenny (Michael McKean) who finally persuades Laverne to apply a bit of common sense and do the Right Thing.
