The five-part cable-TV reality series Last Resort was dedicated (it says here) to putting the spark back into fading romances. On each episode, four couples, each undergoing a relationship crisis, were jetted off to Hawaii's Kona Village Resort, where during the next five days they would hopefully recapture the ardor that had brought them together in the first place. Supervised by professional couples counselors Dr. Tess Hightower and Dr. Roger Rhodes, the couples participated in a variety of "team" activities designed to test their devotion to one another. As on most programs of this nature, not every contestant went home happy, especially after facing the "confession camera" at the end of the episode. Hosted by Hawaiian TV personality Kala'i Miller, Last Resort premiered August 11, 2002.
