Even though her father has ordered her to marry one of the residents of the sleepy fishing village where they live, Sidonia duVal (Marie Doro) prefers a young man (Elliot Dexter) who has just happened in from the city. He is banished from the town, and Sidonia is about to be lashed -- the sentence given flirtatious young women -- when he returns and saves her. They go to the city and are married, but instead of living happily ever after, she eventually finds him in a compromising situation with another woman. Without listening to explanations, she takes a lash to the girl herself. Then she angrily leaves home and returns to the island where she used to live. Her sentence is renewed and the whipping is about to carried out when, once again, her husband reappears and saves her.
