Synopsis by Steve Blackburn
Part of the Landmarks of Faith series originally seen on the Odyssey Network, this "Travelogue of American Spirituality" takes the viewer on an in-depth look at Christ Church Episcopal Parish Church in Philadelphia. Hosted by filmmaker Schuyler Sackett, this episode explores the building and parish where George Washington, Ben Franklin, Betsy Ross, and other heroes of the American Revolution worshipped. Originally established as an anchor for the Church of England in the American colonies, by 1776 the church building had been transformed into a symbol of democracy and religious freedom.
