Synopsis by Clare Perez-Izaguirre Lopez
This documentary directed and co-produced by Cecilia Aldarondo follows the aftermath of Hurricane Maria in 2017 that destroyed vast areas of Puerto Rico in one of its worst natural disasters in history. An underwhelming response from America, the place that was keen to market Puerto Rico as a playground for the rich with tax breaks and upmarket real estate, has fueled tensions, with Puerto Ricans questioning why assistance for the land they love has been so ineffective and lackluster.
