Synopsis by Elizabeth Smith

Big Stuff, a series of three programs produced for The Learning Channel, introduces children to some of the largest buildings and most interesting objects in the world. This episode, Land Monsters, takes a look at the LT (LeTourneau) 800 Loader, an unusually large earthmover. The United States, Canada, Argentina, Chili, Australia, and Brazil all use the LT since its bucket can lift 100,000 pounds of earth. Kids will also see the world's largest wind tunnel, which is housed in a huge building at the NASA Ames Research Center in California. Striking footage allows kids to catch a glimpse of Japan's Ocean Dome and the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge that connects islands in the middle of an earthquake zone. The other two titles in this series are Sea Titans and Giants of the Sky.
