Co-directors Judith Keil and Antje Kruska’s documentary find pathos and unexpected levity in the lives of three asylum seekers – Yemeni, Iranian and Cameroonian – in the small town of Belzig, Germany. Over the course of a year, they encounter various bureaucratic obstacles that stand in the way of their hopes for a new life in Germany as they become more intimately acquainted with German culture.
