Synopsis by Hal Erickson

The suprisingly short Spanish historical epic Virgen de Guadalupe is based on a venerable legend. The film is set during the era of the Conquistadors. A battle rages between the Aztec tribes of Mexico and the Spanish invaders. At the height of the carnage, a vision of the Virgin Mary brings the bloodshed to a halt. Virgen de Guadalupe was a surprisingly spiritual offering from Mexican director Alfredo Salazar, whose previous ouevre included such gems as Curse of the Aztec Mummy and Wrestling Women vs. the Aztec Ape.
