Synopsis by Robert Firsching
This comically-tinged horror film from cult director Jesus Franco bears little resemblance to the classic Dr. Mabuse films of Fritz Lang. Instead, it is yet another variant on Gritos en la Noche, which Franco seemed to remake at least once a year throughout his early career. Jack Taylor portrays Prof. Farkas, who steals rare moon rocks to develop a mind-control ray in his secret lighthouse laboratory. Farkas is really Dr. Mabuse in disguise, and instructs his mutant henchman Andros (Moises Augusto Rocha) to kidnap women for use as test subjects in his experiments. Inspector Thomas (Fred Williams) and his fiancee Wanda (Ewa Stroemberg) team with Wanda's uncle, a criminologist winkingly named Prof. Orloff, to foil Mabuse's plans. Roberto Camardiel, Ewa Garden, Gustavo Re, and the director co-star.
