A seven year old boy finds his future looking increasingly uncertain after being deserted by his drug-addicted mother, and being sent to live with a homosexual couple in this earnest coming of age drama. As a family friend attempts to find Hendrix a stable home, his mother's shady boyfriend plots to sell him to a grieving couple who recently lost a child of their own. Meanwhile, Hendrix's mother breaks out of rehab in a desperate attempt to save him from being placed in an orphanage.
